Jules et Jim

"Jules et Jim" was written by Henri Pierre Roché (a 75 year old man) who intended this film to be aimed at the younger generation.

This French film is set between 1912- mid 1930s and explores the relationship between two best friends (Jules & Jim) who both fall in love with Catherine.

To be completely honest, I didn't enjoy this film's storyline at all and found myself laughing by the end of the film because I couldn't believe that this would happen in real life.

I did however find this film enjoyable for the cinematography. The black and white provided beautiful scenes and I thought that the fragmented shots were sometimes effective.

I enjoyed watching the costumes change in style as the years progressed & thought the sets were useful for me to reference in this World War 1 project.

In conclusion "Jules et Jim" was useful in terms of costume, set and props however its not a film that I would happily watch again.
